Blue Spruce
News from Rocky Ford
The Blue
Spruce chapter was well represented with eleven couples
attending this event. Eight couples registered for the
Samboree. They are: Bill and Jan Agnew, Don and Nita
Chisholm, Jimmy and Vicky Clark, Larry and Dee Hall, Dennis
and Audrey Murphy, Richard and Dolores Stoesser, Frank and
Joan Thielbar and Joe and Lou Wrinkle. Ron and Chris
Crawford came out for the day on Thursday, Kyle and Marci
Renberg on Friday and Bill and Rhonda Davidson on Saturday.
Thanks to all for your support and participation.
Many of us
participated in the games. Larry Hall won second place in
bocce ball tournament. Lou and Joe Wrinkle won the bean-bag
toss event. The Blue Spruce chapter won second place in the
table decorating contest. Thanks to all the ladies there for
their help. Congratulations to all the winners! Bill Agnew
and Dennis Murphy assisted with the parking again this year.
At least this year we were able to use golf carts to run
around in. That was a good thing as some of the spaces were
about a quarter-mile away from the registration area.
The Good
Sams held a food drive for a Rocky Ford charity this year.
Your President missed that announcement from the State
Director, so we collected from those folks attending and we
bought some foods at the store to contribute. There was a
good amount donated, so it should help out some needy folks.
They also held a used book sale, with those proceeds going
to another local charity.
I think
everyone there had a good time, even Wednesday afternoon
when it rained. If you weren’t at the Samboree, you missed a
good time.
